We’re a nonprofit. We can’t be bought or sold.

City CarShare isn’t just another business trying to make a buck. We’re a mission driven nonprofit. Not only does that sound good on paper, it’s the mission focused business model that works best for carsharing. Our mission is to have fewer cars on the road and the best way to do that is to make carsharing accessible for everyone, which means we keep our prices as low as possible — and we put every dollar back into the community. As a nonprofit we are committed to prioritizing community benefit over profits.

If you share our vision for a cleaner, friendlier, and more exuberant Bay Area — less cluttered by cars and more filled with the diverse menagerie of thoughts, culture, art, and people that make us what we are — we’d love to hear from you!

We frequently have volunteer opportunities at events around the Bay Area and you can also spread the word in your own circles. The more members, the merrier, and the more we can fill our Pods with green, fuel-efficient hybrids. Our goal is simple: cleaner space and more of it for all of us to share.
