An average City CarShare trip has a "blended" rate (one that
combines hours and miles) of about $6.75/hour — less if you
drive fewer miles or use the car during Night Owl hours. And
remember, all trips include gas, maintenance, the best insurance
available, and a place to park when you're done.
For most individual and household plans, weekday rates are $5.50/hour and 35¢/mile and weekend rates
(5 p.m. Friday - 8 a.m. Monday) are $6/hour and 35¢/mile. Drive between midnight and 8 a.m., and
you'll pay only $1.50/hour or even $0/hour, depending on your plan, plus 35¢/mile. There is a $2/hour
premium and capacity vehicle charge for our MINI Coopers, Honda Elements, Subaru Elements, Dodge Grand
Caravans, Toyota Sienna vans, and Toyota Tacoma trucks (which represent less than 6% of our fleet).
If you have a longer distance trip in mind, our Extended Freedom Trips (EFT) are the way to go. For most
individual and household plans, our 24 hour EFTs cost just $48 +10¢/mile (35¢/mile after 200 miles)
during the week and $52 +10¢/mile (35¢/mile after 200 miles) on the weekends (5 p.m. Friday
- 8 a.m. Monday). There's an extra $12/EFT charge for premium and capacity cars, except for
SharePlus members. Take them one at a time or book them back-to-back for a
longer getaway.

Tip: For Extended Freedom Trips, the $48 weekday rate/ $52 weekend rate (5 p.m. Friday
- 8 a.m. Monday) is for the first 24 hours and the 10¢/mile rate is for the first 200 miles. If you make an Extended
Freedom Trip reservation for 30 hours and drive 150 miles, you'll save on your mileage since the whole
trip is less than 200 miles. You'll only pay the additional 6 hours at the $5.50/hour weekday rate or $6/
hour weekend rate + 35¢/ mile.
