Celebrate the Season of Sharing by encouraging your friends to join City
CarShare. A lucky CCS member who signs up 5 or more friends by January 31
will get a chance to win a fantastic Sonoma-bound adventure. And yes,
we'll provide the wheels to get you there.
Any member who signs up a friend will get $20 in credits and that friend will also
get $20 in credits. So if you get 5 friends to join, you'll get $100 in credits and
each friend will get $20 in credits. With the High-Five contest you will also be
entered in a drawing to win a fun weekend in Sonoma. To make it easier to encourage
your friends to sign up, you can tell them that if they let us know you referred
them, they won't have to submit a deposit (
ShareLocal or
SharePlus members) for a
year. Plus if 5 or more sign up, we'll refund your deposit in driving credits. No
matter how many friends you get to sign up, you'll still get free credits, so start
now!
Please note this contest does not apply to Trial Program members or new employee sign ups for business accounts. More details below.
Two nights at the Inn at Sonoma

This lovely Inn nestled in the heart of charming downtown Sonoma is just
what you'll need after a busy holiday season. Spend two relaxing nights
away and enjoy a wine country adventure-filled weekend. The Inn at Sonoma
has fantastic amenities: breakfast buffet, free WiFi, a rooftop hot tub,
and free wine, tea and hors d'ouvres everyday. They even have bicycles
and helmets so you can explore on two wheels instead of four.
Dinner for two at El Dorado Kitchen
El Dorado "blends sophisticated urban style with a relaxed wine-country spirit in a
setting that is at once simple and dramatic, contemporary and comfortable." After a
full day we know you'll enjoy stepping out in style for some yummy gourmet California
cuisine. The restaurant is also located in downtown Sonoma, within walking distance
of the Inn.
"Soil To Bottle" Wine Tasting at Sebastiani

Enjoy a private tasting at Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery! This exclusive seminar
includes an in-depth tour of the winery and the fermentation cellars, as well as a
private tasting of their Appellation Selection wines. You'll learn about how and
where their grapes are grown and why they plant different varietals in the various
microclimates within Sonoma County. You'll get to taste wine while learning about
vineyard planning, vine care, the growing season, harvest, crush, fermentation and
finally, the barrel aging and bottling. With nearly a century of winemaking
experience in Sonoma, Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery focuses on crafting small lots of
super-premium wines from Sonoma County. The family-owned Sebastiani Vinyard and
Winery is donating part of the costs for this tour to City CarShare.
Second Prize
Although everyone who signs up five friends gets $100 in driving credits and a chance
to win the Sonoma adventure weekend, we're sweetening the deal with iPod speakers as
a second place prize.
Tips for Referring
Start now because you only get until January 31, 2009 to sign up five or more for the
contest. Here are some selling tips and downloadable fact sheets.
Start with these questions:
Do you drive less than 10,000 miles per year? Is most of your driving local? Do you
want to help the environment, save money and make the Bay Area a better place to live?
If your friend answers
yes, then you've got a likely candidate. So
go ahead and share your City CarShare experiences. Let them know how easy the
service is to use, what you use it for, and how much time and money you save because
of City CarShare. Show them your fob and describe how it works (believe us, they'll ask!)
And if your friend needs more, here are some quick points and downloadable fact sheets.
What's so special about City CarShare?
City CarShare launched car sharing in San Francisco in 2001 and is the Bay Area's
only local and nonprofit car share provider. That means we have lower rates, better
insurance coverage and programs that invest in communities and neighborhoods. Plus
all of our cars are fuel efficient with low emission ratings so when members do
drive, their impact is lower.

How is City CarShare different?
Our positive impact in the Bay Area is proven with a third party study.
We are not profit driven. Our prices are low and all of our revenue gets
invested back into our communities with special programs for those with
disabilities, low-income residents, and youth workers.
We have the best, most secure insurance coverage in the industry.
We pledge to serve the public good and the environment.

Contest Rules:
You need to have five friends sign up by January 31, 2009 to any plan except the
Trial Program Plan and employees of a business plan member.
Additions to your household account are not included.
New members must indicate your name and member ID on their application when
they sign up. Both you and this member will automatically get $40 in driving
credits to share.
If there is more than one High-Five winner, we will select the member who
signed up the most people. If there is a tie, we will pool the winners' names
and randomly select one who will be awarded the prize. The same rule applies for
second place prizes.
The Inn at Sonoma ($517 value), the El Dorado dinner ($120 value), and the
Soil and Bottle tour ($70 value) prizes are awarded as gift certificates. CCS
will mail the certificates to the winners by February 15. It is up to the winner
to reserve their room and CCS vehicle. The winner also needs to make the dinner
reservation and bring the certificates in order to redeem them.
The winner will get up to 3 Extended Freedom Trips (EFTs) credited to their
account for the weekend for any type of car. These EFTs will not affect the
winner's EFT balance if they are a ShareLocal or
SharePlus member.
The winner needs to notify CCS of the dates they reserved the CCS vehicle
so CCS can credit the winning member's account for the trip (up to 3 Extended
Freedom Trips at 72 hours and 600 miles)
Prizes are awarded in gift certificates and are estimated based on rates through
the end of March. Winners will need to cover any additional costs that exceed the
amount of the certificates including taxes and gratuities.
For any referrals that result in a new business account (Business Classic,
Business Value or Nonprofit Business), CCS will calculate the new business
account as two new members for this contest. For example, if you get 3 friends to
sign up and a business to set up a new account, you will have qualified for the
High-Five Referral Contest drawing.
Any member who has a personal use plan with a deposit and who refers 5 or
more members for the High Five contest will get their deposit refunded in driving
credits.
City CarShare employees and their family members may not participate in
this contest.
