It Rocks! She Rocks! We Rock!
Ever use that term? It may be cliché, but we hear it all the time at City CarShare. In fact, we hear it so much that we almost forgot how appropriate it is in April.... the month we celebrate the biggest 'rock' of all, our planet Earth. Earth Day is right around the corner, on April 22nd, and City CarShare is proud of the positive impact our members have in helping to save the planet. As a City CarShare member who already walks, bikes, takes transit and uses a car only when you need one, you especially rock. Every year the average American pumps out 20 tons of CO2, the leading global warming gas. Collectively, as environmentally conscious City CarShare members, you are making a huge difference and saving 25+ million pounds of CO2 emissions each year. When you reserve one of City CarShare's hybrid cars you are producing 25-90% less harmful pollutants and greenhouse gases than comparable gasoline cars. Not only do we offer over 80 hybrid cars at the same low $5 hourly rate, all of the cars in our fleet are at the highest level of fuel efficiency for their class. The Doctor Is In
This month our first-ever resident Fleet Mobile
officially arrived. City CarShare's mechanics, Mike
(pictured here) and Desmond use the Fleet Mobile to
keep our cars in top condition with routine oil
changes and tire and brake check ups.
Having these two in the field means we are able to provide you with a higher quality driving experience at a lower cost. If you see Mike or Desmond (or Brendon, Kelly or any of our other wonderful staff) in the field, say "hello" and tell them what you love about City CarShare — they might have a nice surprise for you! |

Driving Tip: Pass It OnAs you already know, one of the many benefits of using City CarShare is free parking at the pods where our vehicles live. We are able to keep this amazing perk by parking many of our cars in public and private garages that require a garage pass (located in the visor above the driver's seat). As a courtesy to other members, please remember to put the garage pass back in the visor at the end of your trip. If you arrive at a car that has a missing pass, call the emergency line (415-786-7468) and we'll help get you on your way.I'm sure you'll agree that being delayed inside a parking garage is not fun. So remember to be good to your fellow members and return that pass to the visor after you use it to exit or re-enter the garage. |

City CarShare Spreads to Theater
New uses for car sharing are popping up in the musical serial killer comedy, "Sweetie" Tanya, playing at Exit Theater in San Francisco. We have to say "Sweetie" Tanya would probably be charged a hefty cleaning fee for one suggestion she makes. Check out the play to see what we mean! Tickets can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com and the show runs on Friday & Saturday nights through the month of May. If you send us your ticket stub and tell us Tanya's suggestion, we'll give you $10 in driving credit - but you have to promise not to reenact the play. |

Green for St Patty's Day
City CarShare was a hit in the St. Patrick's Day Parade
last month, receiving 5th place for "Best Novelty Unit".
As a non-profit, community-based organization, we are
rarely thought of as a novelty unit. We like it!
If you are a member of a community group or organization and would like us to attend your event, present at your meeting, or provide other novelty unit support, just let us know! Thanks to everyone who came out to support the parade and CCS! And remember, City CarShare members "think green" 365 days a year. |
