eFleet - Plug n' Play: User-Friendly Electric Vehicles
The 2001 debut of our eco-friendly fleet made it easy and affordable for Bay Area city-dwellers to turn "green living"
from a media buzzword into a way to get around. Nearly a decade later, our new eFleet initiative is leading the way for
the Bay Area to take a bigger step towards a smaller carbon footprint.
In 2011, we'll be adding Electric Vehicles (EV) and more Plug-in Electric Hybrids (PHEV) to locations throughout San
Francisco and the East Bay. Due in part to a Climate Innovation Grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission,
well make it easy for you to experience zero-emission electric vehicles, backed by the reliability and convenience of a
City CarShare membership.
City Carshare will utilize eFleet's primary stage budget of $2.5 million to introduce new vehicles and to build and
maintain a charging station infrastructure that will host our electric vehicles, as well as provide station access to
the public. As part of regional efforts to establish the Bay Area as the electric vehicle capital of the nation, City
CarShare will be working with local governments, other organizations, and businesses to ensure that you, our
forward-thinking members, can experience exceptional convenience and low cost access to this new, innovative technology.
The first two years of eFleet will see an estimated savings of 12,000 tons of CO2 emissions. And thousands of gallons of
gasoline will be saved and an estimated 20,000 new carbon-free trips will be taken.
Besides the MTC, organizations supporting City CarShare's eFleet program include the San Francisco County Transportation
Authority, Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), Bay Area Climate Collaborative, the Cities of Berkeley and
San Francisco, and the University of California San Francisco, among others.
Electrified transportation creates much-needed local jobs. It also improves our national security by reducing our
dangerous reliance on foreign oil.
-Rafael Reyes, Director of the Bay Area Climate Collaborative

of the Bay Area's vibrant aesthetic, we love giving away free tickets to remind you to get out there and experience the
Bay Area!
Eager to check out the Berkeley Rep, but don't want to fly solo? Lucky you ... we're giving away 5
pairs of tickets! Send an e-mail to marketing@citycarshare.org listing two music venues within a ten minute drive of
Berkeley Rep. The first five members to hit "send" will win two tickets to see Lemony Snicket's The Composer is Dead on Saturday, December 4.
Curtain at 7 p.m. sharp.
In Lemony Snicket's The Composer is Dead, the actor is mute, the director is crying, the dancer is lazy—and the composer is dead! This holiday
season brings a deliciously silly world premiere from beloved Bay Area artists Lemony Snicket, Nathaniel Stookey and
Geoff Hoyle with classic clowning and plenty of puppets from the pioneering marionette group Phantom Limb Company.
If the Berkeley Rep is new to you, Lemony Snicket's The Composer is Dead is a great introduction. Since its inception in 1968, our community
partner and organization member Berkeley Rep has blossomed from half a storefront to a pair of stages that see over
180,000 audience members every year. As a fellow non-profit, the theatre also embraces the task of giving back to both
the local community as well as the extended community of theatre nationwide.

When 10,000 roaring gladiators (or blue creatures, or flying monkeys, or space troopers) swarm across the screen for

Thanksgiving is Coming up: Remember to reserve in advance for holiday/weekend trips
You finally did it. You scored those impossible dinner reservations at her favorite restaurant; booked a room at that
charming little B & B you saw on The Travel Channel; mapped out the hiking route that will put you at the top
of the trail two minutes before sunset; and even bought new packing cubes so that your crisp white shirt isn't doing
time under your muddy sneakers. You are The Mini-Vacation Master. Bravo!
But wait, did you forget something? How are you going to get there? It's time to
hop online to reserve a City CarShare
for the weekend. We'll always have cars available but don't forget to reserve early to get the pod and car of your
choice.
Other tips for all: Save a tree and say no when prompted to print a receipt at the gas pump.
Have fun and, as always, drive safely!

Go Giants!!!!
City CarShare would like to join the region-wide celebration and congratulate the San Francisco Giants on a World Series victory,
one that has been long overdue. This is the Giant's first World Series win since relocating to San Francisco in
1958 and we couldn't be more proud. The photo on the right shows what the day-long celebration looked like from our
offices at 8th and Market.
Tell us about your favorite SF Giants experience, story or moment via Twitter or Facebook by November 15 and we'll enter you into our
Love Being Local contest. You could win driving credits, free tickets, and more.

Reservation Tip: Daylight Saving Time Ends November 7
Remember to roll back your clocks this Sunday, November 7 for the end of Daylight Saving Time. Because of this roll
back, we ask that you pay attention to any reservations that take place during late Saturday night.
If you have a reservation that spans 2 a.m. (Saturday night/Sunday morning), you need to know that our system will "fall
back" at this time. So, if you reserve a car from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. on November 7, you'll have the car for 3 hours, not 2
hours. Therefore, you'll be charged for 3 hours instead of 2 hours. This also applies to Extended Freedom Trips during this
time, so a reservation starting at noon on Saturday and ending at noon on Sunday will be charged as a 25 hour
reservation. To sum it up, you will be charged for the time you have the car and this may be longer than the time you
read off a clock.
