Summer Getaway with Extended Freedom Trips
As a Bay Area resident, you know that our real summer starts and ends later than the calendar says. To celebrate our summer
season and our love of the Bay Area, we are offering a fun Summer Get Away 2010
special through September 30, 2010.
There are more reasons than ever to visit, shop and support local businesses and communities in the Bay Area. So why not
kayak the Russian River, take our Subaru Outback equipped with a bike rack to Carmel, or enjoy a cute B and B on the coast in
Inverness? There are thousands of places City CarShare's green fleet of cars can take you. With this Get Away offer, you can
enjoy the Bay Area in a CCS car for longer by making up to a 5-day reservation.
What is Get Away 2010?
When you make a reservation using 2 or more Extended Freedom Trip coupons, and send us a receipt from a Bay Area business
during that trip, you will get $25-$40 driving credit in return. You'll also be automatically enrolled in the Get Away 2010
drawing for a free annual membership (no monthly or annual member service fee) and a $250 donation in your name to a Bay Area
nonprofit.
How Does it Work?
Reserve a car and apply at least 2 of your Extended Freedom Trip (EFT) coupons for that reservation. (Tip: you
can purchase more EFT coupons online while reserving your vehicle if your balance is low.)
Mail, Fax, or email us a receipt from a business located within the 9 county Bay Area Region (see specific
instructions on our web page).
Enjoy seeing credits on your next bill and be entered in a drawing to win prizes.
If you get Extended Freedom Trips with your plan, you get to participate.

Architecture and the City Festival
Mark your calendars for next month's seventh annual Architecture and the City Festival organized
by the American Institute of Architects, SF chapter (AIA San Francisco) and the Center for Architecture + Design. Whether you
are looking to become involved with the local architecture and design community or simply want to learn more about the city,
Architecture and the City offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience San Francisco. City CarShare is proud to support
homegrown San Francisco style by sponsoring the festival for the fifth year in a row.
As the nation's largest architectural festival showcasing home tours, behind the scenes tours, walking tours, films,
exhibitions, lectures, dining by design, family programs and more, Architecture and the City provides an opportunity for
individuals, companies, cultural institutions and the general public to celebrate San Francisco's unique built environment
and their contribution towards it.
The 2010 festival theme, Investigating Urban Metabolism explores the notion of the city as a living, breathing organism that
is as multi-layered, intricate and in flux as the human body. With a strong emphasis on how the city is organized,
programming will look at information systems, ecological systems, building systems, transportation systems, surveillance
systems, and more. Programs will also examine the nuanced ways architects and designers thoughtfully impact our communities
and reflect ever-important issues of sustainability.
We are giving away two pairs of Home Tour tickets to
those members who tell us which building in SF, Berkeley or Oakland is their favorite on our Facebook wall by August 16.
For complete details on the festival, visit the Architecture and the City website.

What's a Drive-in Bike-in Walk-in Movie Festival? It's set up like a traditional drive-in with FM sound as well as two big
amps. Take a nostalgic journey to the days of Drive-ins but arrive however you choose: drive (take your favorite City
CarShare car on a date night!), bike, or walk in. The festival will be held Friday, August 13th, and
Saturday, August 14th (9:00 p.m. each night) at the Mandela Village Arts Center at 1357 5th St in Oakland (one block away
from West Oakland BART).
The Brainwash Movie Festival features a great mix of new movies from the Bay Area and all over the world, featuring dark
humor, animation, mockumentaries, and much more. See
http://www.brainwashm.com/festival/2010-festival/
for the full program. Admission is just $10, or a $40 Festival Pass gets two people into all three nights of the festival.

Turning Sundays into Fun-days!
City CarShare is proud to partner with Sunday Streets and Oaklavia to create safe, fun, car-free spaces on Bay Area streets.
We have spread the word about car sharing at all of the Sunday festivities this year and are looking forward to the last
three Sunday Streets and the second Oaklavia on October 24th.
Thanks to Sunday Streets and
Oaklavia, residents across the Bay Area
have a reason this summer to get active and develop stronger ties with their community. In the last three years, Sunday
Streets has proven to be incredibly popular- growing from two events in 2007 to nine events in 2010, due to the popularity
among residents, business owners, and local government. Click here to see a recap
of the Sunday Streets ever-so-popular Mission route. The successful debut of Oaklavia this past June showed that the East Bay
community was also ready to enjoy city streets but with some Oakland flavor
(check out some video).
