Positions Available:

Marketing Associate

City CarShare seeks a highly motivated, self-starting individual to coordinate and execute Membership Development and Outreach (MDO) department programs, projects and campaigns to achieve City CarShare's goals, objectives and mission.

Key Roles & Responsibilites
The associate implements marketing projects and products, membership development programs and outreach campaigns. The role covers all phases of these elements, from generating ideas and planning, to coordination and compiling results. The associate will take the lead on event planning and neighborhood outreach projects. The associate is a key member of the MDO department and is responsible for making sure that projects are completed on time. For some projects, the associate will coordinate contractors and volunteers and manage work with outside vendors.

Responsibilities
Although these areas are listed separately, some of them fall together within a specific strategy, such as targeted neighborhood outreach. The associate will need to recognize where and when they overlap and implement them in a coordinated fashion. For example, a targeted neighborhood approach would require reaching out to a neighborhood association, doing a postcard mailer and hanging posters, and participating in local events with street teams.

Events
  • Plan, design and coordinate logistics and materials for outreach events during and after business hours, as required. Includes coordinating event consultants and volunteers, and overseeing the booth at events.
  • Coordinate and implement outreach with street teams and volunteers. Share ideas for on-the-ground guerilla marketing projects, develop timelines and draft text and coordinate vendors as needed to fulfill selected campaigns.
PR/Media
  • Schedule and present at local neighborhood groups, merchant associations, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and CommunityShare partners.
  • Manage community partnership projects such as co-promotion and fundraisers with other organizations.
  • Coordinate raffle and silent auction requests. Secure agreement, track organization and donation amount, and assist winners redeem their certificate.
  • Draft MOUs and facilitate partnerships with local Bay Area organizations to increase awareness of City CarShare
Marketing Materials and content
  • Assist with producing monthly e-newsletter. Includes creating themes, writing content, coordinating feedback process, and layout process with IT.
  • Design in-house collateral materials such as coupons, press packets, business and information packets. Coordinate production schedule with designers and printers for professionally printed materials, such as postcards, posters and advertisements.
  • Design, get quotes and order swag such as reusable bags, t-shirts, and pens for events.
  • Maintain fresh daily content on social networking sites. Ensure coordinated messaging across all member engagement opportunities (FB, Twitter, Log in, e-newsletter, bills).
  • Identify and engage new partners for the Member Perks program. Check in with existing partners to maintain relationship and ensure information is up-to-date.
  • Schedule and manage paid advertising. Includes gathering quotes, segmentation data, production, ensuring proper placement and archiving samples.
  • Assist with website updates (includes drafting text and coordinating with IT dept
Sales, outreach and retention
  • Assist is organizing reporting results to track and analyze membership growth and segments.
  • Coordinate marketing strategies for large affiliate accounts and assist with new account sales for businesses, universities and other nonprofits.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new service packages to include surveying target groups, identifying package elements, drafting text and coordinating production process for website and other marketing materials.
  • Manage relationships of various University and business accounts and seek out outreach opportunities.
Other
  • Oversee work of summer interns. Also assists with search process and developing projects for interns.
Job Requirements
  • Committed to the mission of City CarShare to improve the environment and quality of life in the Bay Area. Ability and desire to work for a socially responsible, mission-based organization.
  • Demonstrated marketing experience with the ability to work independently.
  • Exemplary writing skills.
  • Strong critical thinker and problem solver.
  • Event planning experience a plus; detail oriented
  • Great communications skills. Has a professional demeanor.
  • Excellent project management skills. Need to be organized, able to work on multiple projects concurrently and able to develop processes that are sustainable and efficient.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, In Design and Mac systems preferred.
  • Creative, energetic, upbeat and has sense of humor. Able to work in a team environment.

Required Experience
BA or equivalent work experience. Related marketing experience required, including experience working with designers and collateral materials.
