Bay Area Wilderness Training (BAWT)

Do you require a minivan or two to transport youth for outdoor programs? Through a unique partnership between the Bay Area Wilderness Training (BAWT) and City CarShare, teachers, counselors and volunteers can now enjoy low-cost car share rates to transport kids to enjoy the great outdoors!

All BAWT members need be approved by BAWT. You will need to pick up your key fob from BAWT's office in San Francisco.

For more information about the program, please visit BAWT's website.

There are two ways to join the program:

1. Organization pays for driving and fees

Start by assigning an account manager. The account manager sets up a business account by clicking here and uses promo code "BAWT".

If you, the account manager, are a driver, please enter your driver's information. You will be given an "organization account code." Give this number to any other employees/volunteers you wish to add as drivers on your account.

Adding Drivers: Additional employees/volunteers click here and use your organization code to sign up.

Adding personal use: If anyone is a member of an organization account and wants to add personal use to their account, they need to select ShareLocal or SharePlus and note it on the application (in the Other Information section) or contact member services anytime. All standard rates and fees apply with the exception of the application fee. Business use and personal use will be billed separately.

2. You pay for driving and fees

Want to use the vehicles and pay the bill yourself? Click here and enter promo code "BAWT".

Please note your pricing will be based on the BAWT program, not the ShareLocal or SharePlus program.

Other Notes

While there are special, reduced use pricing for BAWT members, all other standard City CarShare policies and fees apply. For example:

  • Return each vehicle with at least ½ tank of gas (a gas card to use for filling up is included in the vehicle).
  • Leave the vehicle in good shape for the next member. We know kids eat a lot of food to fuel their growth. If the BAWTmobile has lots of crumbs in it at the end of your trip, please use the vacuum cleaner to clean them up when you drop off your gear. The vacuum cleaner is located in BAWT's "gear library".
  • Lock the vehicle using your key fob when you are away from the vehicle at all times, and at the end of your reservation. And please don't leave food in the car in areas where bears live.

For full details and additional conditions, see the Member Handbook.
